Налог, взимаемый с предприятий и вообще — организаций, осуществляющих предпринимательскую деятельность. Объектом налогообложения является прибыль за минусом установленных вычетов и скидок (напр., учитывающих рентные платежи, доходы по ценным бумагам, от казино, посреднических операций, реализации сельскохозяйственной продукции, долевого участия в других предприятиях, а также отчисления в резервный фонд); в целях налогообложения используют валовую прибыль, которая в своей основе имеет балансовую прибыль, т.е. прибыль от реализации продукции, прибыль от реализации основных фондов и иного имущества и доходы от внереализационных операций. Налог на прибыль организаций также называют корпоративным. Если говорят об американском корпоративном подоходном налоге, то, безусловно, имеют в виду налог на прибыль.
